- History / Biographical
- Humphrey Prideaux (1648-1724) was born in Cornwall and eventually became a Doctor of Divinity. Prideaux was an author of multiple textual works pertaining to faith and particularly Christianity. He was the Dean of Norwich from 1702 until his death in 1724.

- File consists of 2 books; one 18th century, one 20th century stamp book. Includes 1723 copy of ‘A Life of Mahomet’ by Humphrey Prideaux; missing front/back covers, replaced with plain brown paper covers. Handwritten title ‘Mahomet’ written on front cover and side binding in different handwritings; front believed to be by Nicholas Morant (?), side unknown. Also includes book of Japanese stamps collected by Nicholas Morant; many not dated, various designs and sizes, annotated on covers with Nicholas Morant's personal ink stamp.

- A cylindrical, bottle-shaped handthrown vase, straight-sided, shouldered and necked with a lip on the top of the neck. Decoration heavy over a heavily crackled ecru surface. Decorations in green, blue, and white enamel of harbour scene in landscape, shelters, and blossoming trees. Typed label on bottom: “cylindrical, stained Ecru glaze; landscape design, richly ornamented, green and blue enamel; Kioto; 1780.”

- Two fragments of glazed earthenware tiles, (a) an end piece with one original border which reveals the original shape of the tile to be arabesque-like, the upper right side curves inward in an arc shape, the outer edge is coloured in an aqua-marine blue with a thin rust-orange border on front side, surface has white ground with deep cobalt blue flowers and delicate stems, green leaves and two rust-orange flowers, the same rust colour is applied as contrast to leaves and blue flowers, the colours have run slightly under the glaze ( b) is a corner fragment, too small to distinguish design; colours used are blue green and a dull gold on a white ground, designs are raised and outlined in unglazed clay.
