The outer ring of the circular pin has these words printed on it “GUIDE DE MONTAGNES GUIDA BERGFUHRER”. The front of the pin is coated with clear plastic, presumably for protection from the elements as it must be worn when guiding. The back of the pin has two horizontal hinged pins on two separate pin sets with a swivel-locking safety catch for each of the pins.
