Description: Folding decorative comb hand cut and carved from tortoise shell. Finely carved figure of a woman in profile, wearing a long skirt, carrying a large shoulder bag and holding a dead bird in one hand. A rivet at the top of the figure allows a fancy carved comb to swivel out from her head.

Description: A writing desk that features a curved and inlaid centre portion which folds back to expose four small drawers and open compartments above a pull-out writing/working surface. The desk is supported by two richly carved legs depicting acanthus leaves, terminating in brass casters. It’s flanked by a pair of brass candle holders. Below the working surface are a pair of fielded flamed mahogany doors with brass accents which enclose a storage area. The upper portion features a bookcase with a pair of glazed doors with brass accents. This mahogany secretary features numerous decorative elements including gilt mounts, brass ornamentations, detailed carvings, flamed mahogany panels and an overall exhibition of superior craftsmanship.
