Description
A heavily beaded commercially tanned belt with buckskin loop at one end, ties at the other. The belt itself was a commercial man's belt, but has been sliced in half and stitched together with the former ends concealed and the new ends are squared off.

Each panel bordered with light blue beads around white background containing three orange Maltese crosses outlined in blue with green V's in the angle of each corner and small orange triangles outlined in red pointing toward each of the outer crosses. Between each cross is a red and green square motif containing another four armed cross. The whole has a kaleidoscope effect.

A heavily beaded belt of medium width, finished with a commercially tanned belt end with chrome plated steel buckle and commercially tanned tab, both of which are sewn to the beaded canvas cotton backed strip which is the body of the belt. The bead strip design consists of white rectangles separated by bands of long beads in silver grey between dark blue bead lines, all the rectangles bordered by stripes of light blue, outside them are four crossed bars, and beyond them a cross in red with quadrants of white and blue alternating. The device when laid flat looks like a pair of cravats, rounded ends at the bottom rosettes at the top, joined by a wide band which would fit across the horse's head. Design of white ground with alternating black and white border in lazy stitch, and three black buffalo, increasing in size as descending down the length, two bison heads and a bison standing right profile. The left rosette is of a bison head, but the right rosette is a replacement and is a stylized sun, a red circle on a white ground. Buckskin thongs at base of "cravats" and tops.
