- German Language copy. Facsmile reproduction of book originally published by London : Ernest Nister; New York : E.P. Dutton & Co.No., [ca. 1910]. The reproduction is from the book held in the Alpine Club of Canada Library, inscribed: "Paul A. W. Wallace Toronto Dec. 25, 1913 From S. H. Mitchell". This book was described as Conrad Kain's favourite book in Chapter 10 of the book "Where the Clouds Can Go" by Conrad Kain, and edited by J. Monroe Thorington. (?),. The archives produced a reproduction (with images) from a first ed. copy of 'Animals' Alpine Club', a book in The Animals series, and a favourite of Conrad Kain of the ACC. These children's books are very rare and we are working to build a collection of them for conservation and to allow the stories to be preserved. See 05.1 B47a.

- Abstract
- Pertains to the experiences of Ben Gadd, an experienced Rocky Mountain naturalist, guide and author. His book combines his personal experiences with the stories and essays of 36 others in order to create a touching, yet compelling story. The book includes a comprehensive selection of photographs, many of which are personal to the author and his family. Being that the author was and continues to be greatly involved with the Canadian Rocky Mountains, the book makes mention of multiple locations in and around the area of Banff such as, Mt. Assiniboine, Banff Mountain Film Festival, Bankhead, Brewster transportation and tours, and Johnston Canyon. The book follows the style of a biography and contains many personal stories and photos from the author and associated family.

- This exhibition celebrates the strength and contemporaneity of Pootoogook’s work but also uncovers how it has influenced her peers. Alongside works by Pootoogook, this exhibition will include works of art by Shuvinai Ashoona, Itee Pootoogook, Jutai Toonoo, Ohotaq Mikkigak and Siassie Kenneally, showing how Annie Pootoogook made it possible to begin a different conversation that celebrates Inuit art in new ways in Canada and the world. Bringing these artists’ works and words together in the Cutting Ice exhibition, will celebrate Annie Pootoogook as an important creative catalyst in contemporary art. - Abstract
- "For three years Voss and the Tilikum, aided by a rotating cast of characters, visited Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Brazil and finally England, weathering heavy gales at sea and attracting large crowds of spectators on shore. The austere on-board conditions and simple navigational equipment Voss used throughout the voyage are a testimony to his skill and to the solid construction of the Nuu-Chah-Nulth vessel. Both Voss and his original mate, newspaperman N.K. Luxton, later wrote about their journey in accounts compromised by poor memories, brazen egos and outright lies. Stories of murder, cannibalism and high-seas terror have been repeated elsewhere without any regard to the truth. Now, over a century later, a full and fair account of the voyage--and the magnitude of Voss’s accomplishment--is at last fully detailed. In this groundbreaking work, marine historians John MacFarlane and Lynn Salmon sift fact from fiction, critically examining the claims of Voss’s and Luxton’s manuscripts against research from libraries, archives, museums and primary sources around the world. Including unpublished photographs, letters and ephemera from the voyage, Around the World in a Dugout Canoe tells the real story of a little-understood character and his cedar canoe. It is an enduring story of courage, adventure, sheer luck and at times tragedy."-- Provided by publisher.
