- Hermann Hagedorn was an American writer who was known for his biographical works, particularly on Theodore Roosevelt, as well as poetry and novels. Late in life, Hagedorn became interested in Moral Rearmament. During a visit to the movement's headquarters on Mackinac Island, Michigan in 1958, he met George McLean (Chief Walking Buffalo of the Stoney Indians), an active proponent and traveller on behalf of Moral Rearmament. Intrigued by McLean's character and philosophy, Hagedorn wrote articles as well as drafts of a biography tentatively titled "A Chief in Two Worlds," but died before the work could be completed.

- Rev. Canon Hollingworth Tully Montgomery, 1885-1965, was an Anglican minister at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Montgomery was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick and educated in Atlantic Canada and England. He succeeded his father, Canon Henry Montgomery, as rector of St. George's in the Pines Anglican Church in Banff in 1924, a position which he held until his retirement in 1955. In 1939, he conducted a service for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth during the royal visit to Banff. Montgomery was married to Mary Ruth Montgomery and had two children.

Sibbald, 1865-1938, was Chief Warden for Rocky Mountains Park (Banff National Park), Alberta, Canada beginning 1909; Dominion Parks inspector until 1923; and Superintendent of Kootenay National Park from 1923 until 1932. Sibbald, son of Andrew Sibbald, was born in Ontario and came to Alberta in 1875. He was educated at Morley and later became Indian Agent there and at Gleichen. He was in business with Norman Luxton for a time before joining the National Parks service in 1909

- Howard Palmer, 1883-1944, was a lawyer, businessman and mountaineer at Massachusetts, USA. Palmer was a prominent climber and explorer in the Rocky and Selkirk Mountains of western Canada between 1908 and 1927, completing about fifty first ascents. In the period before WWI, Palmer travelled extensively in the Selkirk Mountains with a group of mountaineering enthusiasts headed by E. W. D. Holway. Palmer published "Mountaineering and Exploration in the Selkirks" in 1914, was an active photographer, and worked on numerous topographical maps and expedition plans, including that of the 1925 Mount Logan expedition. In 1923, Palmer and Allen Carpe travelled, climbed and mapped in the Maligne Lake area. Howard Palmer was active in the American Alpine Club.

- Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (I.O.D.E.), Mount Rundle Chapter, was formed in 1913 at Banff, Alberta- and included a number of prominent women in the community. Much of their work was patriotic in nature, particularly during the First World War, when a relief fund was organized. This chapter continued community service activities during the inter-war period. The Mount Temple Chapter, formed 1939, included younger women. Both chapters performed war work during the Second World War. The Mount Rundle Chapter disbanded in 1951, while the Mount Temple Chapter continues to provide community service.

- Iva (Stewart) Smith , 1894-1975, and Leonard James Smith, 1890-1969, were business operators at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Iva Stewart and her mother Zaidee Stewart, 1875-1962, came to Banff as visitors in 1913 and decided to stay. Iva operated the Canadian Pacific Railway station news stand from 1914 until ca.1924. She married Len Smith in 1922.
- After working at various other CPR facilities, including Lake Louise Chalet in the 1920s and Wapta Bungalow Camp, ca.1931, Iva Smith became manager of Becker's Bungalows on Tunnel Mountain in Banff, ca.1935 Len Smith worked at the Bow River boat house and was Captain of the "Lake Minnewanka" for over thirty years. He was also an ice-maker at Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge and Banff, Alberta for forty-five years. Zaidee M. Stewart worked at the boat operation tea house and wrote poetry, publishing "Banff Holiday" in 1950.

- J. Monroe "Roy" Thorington, 1894-1989, was an ophthalmologist, mountaineer and mountain historian at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Thorington was a pre-eminent climber and explorer in the Canadian Rockies starting in 1922. He studied the Freshfield and Lyell Glaciers for 22 years and explored and mapped the Purcell Range, British Columbia. Thorington wrote approximately 300 publications on mountaineering, mountain history and the Canadian Rockies. He was active in numerous organizations, particularly the American Alpine Club.

- Jack Alexander Brewster, 1891-1974, son of William and Annie Brewster of Banff, grew up on a homestead near Innisfail and in South Edmonton. He attended Queens University and moved to California with his parents. Brewster worked as an engineer and accountant in Redlands, California. During the First World War, Brewster served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force.

During the 1930s, Mitchell worked at the Government Museum in Banff and assumed the curator's duties there following the retirement of Norman Sanson.

- John Jaeggi, 1899-1961, came to Canada in 1924 from Switzerland and worked in various capacities for the Alpine Club of Canada. He was an outfitter and hunting guide in British Columbia and bought a farm in the Columbia Valley in 1934. In 1940 Jaeggi built a log tea room on Sulphur Mountain in Banff. He was instrumental in the development of other tourist facilities on Sulphur Mountain, including a gondola lift completed in 1959. Edith Ashton Jaeggi, 1903-1986, was owner of the Upper Hot Springs Hotel and married John Jaeggi in 1949. Together, they renovated the hotel and served as its proprietors.

- James Irving McLeod, 1879-1955, was a businessman at Banff, Alberta, Canada. After coming to Lake Louise from Ontario in 1906, McLeod cut ice for the hotels there and was a manager for Brewster Transport Co. from ca.1912 until 1920. In 1921, McLeod and William Warren formed Rocky Mountain Tours and Transport Co. Ltd. which McLeod operated until his retirement in 1946. The firm was operated by his sons, James and Allan, and his sons-in-law, H. H. Waterhouse and R. V. Bray, until amalgamating with Brewster Transport Co. Ltd. in 1957. McLeod also had an interest in the Homestead Hotel. James McLeod was married to Evelyn Davidson McLeod, 1885-1951.
