A set of four matching, large matchboxes fitted into red metal box with box lid. Box has Japanese writing in gold inside square frame at one corner of lid. In gold at one corner of bottom, "JAPAN". Description
A round seat cushion of soft light coloured leather with brightly coloured floral geometric design appliqued on top, and completely fringed around its perimeter with leather fringes (6.5 cm long). Design on top in red, green and blue leather primarily having large, many-petalled daisy-like flower at the centre surrounded by a wide circular band made up of thin narrow strips of blue leather depicting overlapping arches with green triangular leaf shapes beneath the arches, and a series of linked red diamonds forming a band at the border. A foam pad has been inserted through a slit on the underside of the covering which is then laced together with a thong through holes along each side of the slit which is reinforced with machine stitching and semi-circular leather patches at each end. The appliqued design is machine-stitched.
