- Black hard leather carry case with silver corner protectors and tarnished silver buckles and lock. The exterior of the case has remnants of shipping labels (and possibly other stickers) as well as painted red squares (approx. 7.5x6.5 cm) throughout the front and side panels - remnants of some large red label remains on the lid. The side opposite the handle has 2 (two) parallel pieces of wood nailed on horizontally. The handle is wrapped entirely in black electrical tape, leaving the metal hoops exposed - hanging from both metal hoops are the strings and tops of various “CP Rail” shipping tags, as well as a large tag reading “MORANT COLLECTION J-8 ‘Long Takumar Lens for 6x7 work, 600 mm’ 1 of 2” written on it in black ink and attached with a plastic loop.The interior of the case is lined with black paper and contains several pieces of thick white foam along the sides and bottom. Also inside the case is a dual-sided weight that looks homemade, possibly filled with sand, as well as a purple Crown Royal bag containing several small pieces of photography equipment and tools. A manufacturer label inside the lid reads “G.R. TAYLOR LTD. TRUNKS AND SAMPLE CASES WINNIPEG” - no information about the manufacturer found online.

The center of the rings is a gap for a roll of 16mm film, which is filled with a loose roll of 16mm film with a metal bar to keep it in place. b) A bright red box with simple labels on two opposite sides of the lid. - Box of one dozen Thin Crystal Dry Plates for a Pocket Kodak camera. The box’s seal has been broken - inside are alternating layers of thin black paper and the glass plates, which are fogged.Dry plate, or the gelatin process, was invented by Dr. Richard L. Maddox in 1871 and replaced the more time-consuming wet plate, or collodion process, which required active wet chemicals to be prepared in mobile dark rooms. The dry plate process underwent several adaptations throughout the 1870s and, in 1879, George Eastman developed a method of applying the emulsion layer to glass in a factory setting, simultaneously creating what came to be known as the Eastman Kodak Co. and bringing down the cost of photography so as to be accessible to the masses.

The black text reads “CRAMER’S” “Photo Dry Plates.” “DIRECTIONS INSIDE.” “MANUFACTURED BY” “G. Cramer Dry Plate Co.,” “St. Louis, Mo., U.S.A.” “NEW YORK DEPOT: 93 University Place.” “Keep in a Dry, Dimly Lighted Place.” “Open in Dark Room Only.” At the top of the lid is handwriting in pencil, “Box No. 3 finished”. Along one edge is another blue label, an anchor illustration “ANCHOR Brand.” “CRAMER PLATES.” “Emulsion 18544” “ONE DOZ. 4 x 5”. There is a brown tape along the edge of the lid. The bottom of the box is stamped with “185445 A10” “THIS” “TRADE-MARK” “REGISTERED IN Anchor” “U.S. PAT. OFFICE.” The inside of the box is a golden yellow. Along the edges of the bottom of the box, is a gingham printed tape.
