Plain wooden back fits into groove across bottom clock, with two metal flanges sliding into slits cut into the roof, where they are locked in place with small wire hooks through holes in the flanges. Round hanging hole cut through back near top. Attached to inside of back is circular, spiral wire sounding gong. Clockworks exposed include several gear wheels connected by wires, behind a pallisade within the clock, and flanked on either side by a pillar covered with marbelized and floral patterned paper. On a platform above in the gable sits a carved wooden cuckoo bird on a perch waiting to pop out the window, on either side of this shelf is a small square bellows.( b) pendulum, 36.0 long, brass disk hanging at bottom of brass flat rod connected to long wire hook at top.
