- The painting is divided into three sections. Each section features a different house from the Banff area. Two wide blue stripes divide the three sections from each other. The first home on the left side is seen through small groups of trees. This log home with a wrap around verandah was built in 1920 by Norman Luxton for Dr. Brett of the Brett Sanitarium. The current owner is John Peck and official address is 514 Buffalo Street. The second home is white in colour and was built in 1913 by Joseph Bannerman and it’s location in Banff is 602 Buffalo Street. The third home featured on this painting is currently owned by Mr. Blake O’Brian and is located at 214 Muskrat Street, Banff.

The rock gets higher as it moves to the right of the painting and a tree grows from the ground at the very point the rock touches the right side picture frame. In the distance are mountains with snow covered peaks. The colour of the mountains and snow is a purple, blue hue. All three of the bighorn sheep have full, rounded horns.

Further to the left another red building with a purple roof and to the left of that another dust funnel (dust devil) rising up to the storm clouds and sheets of weather in the sky. - Predominant colours are black, dark blue, grey and white. There is an outline of one large grizzly bear on the top two-thirds (viewer’s left) of the painting, side view, painted black, and the back part is flat background painted dark blue; this extends to the bottom left. The right side is background and is painted white from top to the paw (viewer’s right) to the bottom of the painting. Overlapping this a large cutout of a bear, grey, white, and black charcoal, dominates the painting. Across the top of his body is a stencilled sign: “FLINTS PARK CABIN”, below this the outline of a Bighorn sheep’s head, and below this “WARDEN SERVICE” “BANFF NATIONAL PARK” is stencilled across his legs.
