They are called bongs or more commonly ‘bong-bongs’ the name climbers might use.(a) A metal bong, the largest of the four (15.0 widex12.5cm high, 2.60 depth) is folded in half held together by a piece of metal that look like a doubled-headed nail and nailed down, so that it is open at all other points. It is soldered together at the points above the nail. There is a round hole through each side. Engraved with “LONGWARE” and “H.G.” on the same side. (b) A metal bong (10.0 widex13.0.cm high, 5.80cm depth) is folded in half held together by a piece of metal that look like a doubled-headed nail and nailed down, so that it is open at all other points.
