Either end of container has relief lion's head with rotating ring through jaw. Bottom of box scratched "#251 MT ac", also stamped lion profile hallmark and "7". Interior of box is two chambers divided by flat sterling bar. In either chamber sits a bevelled, square sided glass. Each container has circular, ridged top with 1.0 cm. hole in centre. One of sterling tops is anchored permanently to glass well and has white powder residue inside it, other top is removable and is presumably for holding ink.
