The outer ring of the circular pin has these words printed on it “GUIDE DE MONTAGNES GUIDA BERGFUHRER”. The front of the pin is coated with clear plastic, presumably for protection from the elements as it must be worn when guiding. The back of the pin has two horizontal hinged pins on two separate pin sets with a swivel-locking safety catch for each of the pins. In between the pin sets is a rectangular box with the letter “K” on top and then “KOFEL-BZ”.

The front piece has the letter “E” inside a diamond shape and the letters “I,M,L” inside individual boxes above the rivet. The back piece has four lines etched on the top and “MADE” on one side and “ITALY” on the other. On the inserted paper name tag is the UIAGM logo; a stylized mountain on the top-third of a segmented globe on a blue background, Above the circle are the letters “UIAGM” and below “IVBV”.The outer ring of the circular logo has these words printed on it “GUIDE DE MONTAGNES GUIDA BERGFUHRER”, in the lhc. - A silkscreen print of a triptych of a mountain landscape. The print consists of three images, each 10.5 x 5.0 cm, and all the same image. They are in a horizontal row on a solid maroon-coloured background. In each of the images a mountain scene is depicted. In the background is a mountain range, the mountains a purple/grey with black and white accents. The sky behind the mountains is a pale baby blue. In the foreground, below the mountains, is a teal blue lake with a burnt orange shoreline with black forest. Nine colours used in the print.
