- An untanned, buckskin jacket with floral beadwork design on the back across the shoulders in flowers with colours red, blue, black, yellow and leaves of green. The area below the beadwork is pinked and fringed. There is mirror image, identical beadwork on each side of the front of the jacket. There is a zippered front closure and a pinked and beaded portion on each side of the zipper. The beadwork is alternating blue, yellow and red flowers with blue and yellow leaves and stems and then below flowers with colours of red, blue, black, yellow and leaves in green. There are four flowers on each side. On the flat front pockets the borders are pinked and the beadwork is a flower with red petals rimmed with black and a yellow centre. The leaves and stem are green.

Metal band at base of hilt and metal cap at its end have relief casting of leaves and blossoms, and a bronze casting of blossoms is caught under black cord wrapping handle, oval sword guard has cut out relief of branches and blossoms, with holes on either side large enough to allow dirk to pass through. (b) dirk, long thin blade set into brass handle with cast relief of heron standing in stream with incised bushes around. Japanese calligraphy on other side of handle. Rectangular sword guard with cast relief of chrysanthemums and butterfly with holes cut through each side to accommodate small dirk handle. (b) dirk, steel bladed with copper handle with relief casting of brass dragon on one side. - A four-drawer secretary desk with drop front hinged and two pull-out supports for lowered front. All hardware in good condition. Governor Winthrop style. Interior of desk back has cubbyholes and two deep, narrow slot drawers. Also a hidden drawer centre top. Secret drawer has a letter inside from Catharine's mother dated October 7, 1938, part of it reads: "I am going to find out about the age of the desk 150 years anyway & most likely older. My father bought it 60 years ago, from the old Derby house in Salem, where Lafayette stayed & the desk was old then." Letter now in Archives M36/164.

- A shaped wooden box with a hinged veneered cover. The box rests on small ball feet. The lid is bevelled to accommodate varying heights of knives. There is a keyhole at the front, near the top, of the box (key missing). A small sterling silver plaque beneath the keyhole is monogrammed “E.L.”.
