Description
Simple stick figurine of a pack horse with a diamond hitch pack. Body formed from a small log, four nails serve as the legs, the 4cm. long neck is a nail bored through the head which is made from a twig section 3.5 x 1 cm. diam. Two eyes represented by two small nails, two ears are also two small nails. The bark from the twig has been shaved at the bottom of the head to suggest the muzzle, an indentation is cut into bottom of head to accommodate the string bridal. The string rein is attached to top of the bulging pack which is fastened with a triple diamond hitch. Two small blocks of wood pack boxes are nailed to the body, one on either side. These blocks are concealed by an unbleached cotton tarp, cotton is stuffed, and bulges unevenly over the securing string. Cinch is fashioned from a piece of insulated copper wire. Strand of thick string nailed to rear for tail. Abrand has been burned into left front: "M" ("M" standing on rocking arch).

Bamboo musical instrument made of two hollow bamboo tubes suspended on split bamboo frame of three thin upright sticks supported in holes cut in hollow bamboo tube at bottom. Two flat pieces of bamboo are secured crosswise into the split uprights and each holds one of the bamboo tubes which are hung on them by a semicircular hole which fits into a notch on the crosspiece, half of the upper part of these tubes have been cut away lengthwise and at their bottom two small legs have been carved which fit into wells cut in the bamboo tube at the bottom. When the instrument is held by one of the uprights and shaken, the hollow bamboo clappers strike the sides of this well and make a musical sound.
