(a) pearls along length, 3.1x.6x.3, plain rectangular bar with fifteen tiny cultured seed pearls, .2 cm dia. set side by side in a groove down the middle with small melted beads of gold holding them in place. (b) single pearl, 2.4x .5 x .4 , small rounded tapered ellipse of gold with tiny seed pearl , .2 cm dia set into bevelled hole at centre, hollow. Stamped on back "14k" and torch hallmark. (c) same as (b) without pearl, 1.9 x .4 x .2, die struck. Hook clasp has double legs but joined by its curve into single hook. Period 1890 - 1915. (d) same as (c) but flat with border, 2.0 x .4 x .3, plain with small, gold, 14k, machine stamped, bead edging completely around outside. (e) engraved, 2.6 x .4 x .4, flat, rectangular bar with scrolled design hand engraved on side of hook clasp. Period 1890 - 1915. (f) silver, rhodium? plated over gold, 2.4 x .5 x .4, small openwork ellipse with five small flowers across middle joined by wire filigree. Between each steplike series on the buff background is an oblique double zig-zag line running from bottom to top of the basket. Lip is finished with three rows of twining of a lighter brown colour, pattern not visible on inside. Paper tag rimmed with metal is attached with cord and wax through lip of basket; no writing is visible.

Lightly beaded on front with single flower at centre with many petals outlined in blue black, and petals filled in with blue black and white seed beads. Four white stems and outlined black leaves curve from the blossom towards the corners of the purse. An alternately beaded white and black stem rises from the top of the blossom with a white and black trifoliate mass at the top, and two alternately beaded white and black bird's legs support the blossom at the bottom. The mouth of the purse is trimmed with white and black beads, as well as a small pointed tab with a buttonhole slit which is sewn to the middle of the back opening. The back of the purse is two pieces of buckskin patched together.
