Marks; the cardboard has been cracked through the vertical middle.“Collings spent the first 40 years of his life in South Devon, only a few miles from the coast. Harbour views, often with boats, dominate his early work. The insects and all elements of the picture are hand made of silk on a silk background. Extremely fine work, exceptional detail. Leading the procession are 3 grasshoppers (heralds) followed by: 2 wasps carrying blue flowers, 2 crickets carrying morning glory flowers, 2 grasshoppers (big and strong) carrying biggest standards, 2 mantis carrying chest, 4 bearers (grasshoppers, 2 carrying, 2 backups) carrying a golden beetle (feudal lord) in a fine insect cage, 8 dancers (wasps), one lagging behind, 1 large grasshopper bearing beetle (parade marshall), 11 wasps and grasshoppers carrying food staples. i.e. honeycone, rice, wheat, beans, persimmon hill left foreground and right background with light brush strokes depicting grasses. - a. Faded black leather wallet with a diamond pattern pressed onto the exterior. The wallet has three main compartments, three smaller pockets, and one separate compartment. There is an elastic running through the middle of the inside of the wallet, as well as a second elastic on the back side of the wallet. There is no proper mechanism to close the wallet. The inside is a light tan colour. Internal pocket closest to the back of the wallet is held together using green duct tape. There is a variety of stamp marks on the inside of the wallet - five of which say “ F. G. MORANT P.O. BOX 66 KAMLOOPS B.C.”, one of which has his Kamloops address on a flag waved by a young boy in a knight’s outfit, one of which says “F. G. MORANT Box 3332 R. R. I VICTORIA, B.C.”, one says “BROKERHURST” in calligraphy, one says “DILTON” in calligraphy, and one say “F. MORANT” in calligraphy, b. A coil of red ribbon wrapped around a piece of cream coloured paper with a small detached piece of the red ribbon tucked underneath. c. A coil of red ribbon wrapped around a white piece of paper. The red ribbon is pierced by a silver pin. d. A coil of light blue ribbon wrapped around a cream coloured piece of paper.e.
