Description: A watercolour landscape painting of mountains and a lake. There are three grey mountains in the background and behind them is a cloudless blue sky. In the foreground is a blue-green lake. On the bottom right, part of the shore with three large rocks, is visible. In the centre at the bottom, a few branches and two logs are breaking through the water. On the left side a large boulder sits in the water. In the middle ground there is forest along the lake shore. The forest starts out of frame on the right and extends just over halfway across the painting. Behind the forest on the left are two green hills. Greys, blues, greens and brown are the primary colours used. The artist signature is in the bottom rhc. Au verso, written in pencil along the bottom edge is, “At Lake Minnewanka aug 28/38 Doris Cormie” and also in pencil in the centre of the paper is “27” with a circle around it. Just right of centre near the top is written, “5334”.

Description: Coloured image of boler interior. browns, greens and blues colour the walls with a projected image of the exterior surroundings. Two windows appear to show the exterior landscape. Landscape is a mountainous terrain with large body of water and some ever green trees. Interior furniture includes two benches, fold down table and box in bottom right corner. The table holds an unfolded map, some books and a mug. The reflected image on the walls is projected upside down because it is done using a camera obscura technique. This print belongs to the 76 Boler series. “Nearly true stories of a wandering 76 Boler”

Description: In the foreground two mountain climbers are making their way through a series of blue-green ice blocks. To the viewer’s immediate right: the back of a climber, the thigh of his right leg, his bent left leg (in the act of climbing up), his left arm bent at the elbow with his hand resting on his brown ice axe. He is wearing a red down-filled parka with the hood up. The jacket has two badges on the upper left arm; the lower, larger badge is black and white and the upper badge is the Canadian flag in red and white. He is also wearing black mitts, brown ski pants, and on the partial view of his left leg and foot, red gaiters, brown boots with red laces and crampons. Ahead of him to the viewer’s left, another man is in the act of climbing, his body is turning to the left and he appears to be looking off in the distance. He is wearing eye goggles, a blue parka with grey fur around the collar and bottom, a red head cover, grey mitts and red gaiters. His right hand is resting on his ice axe. He appears to be a guide (Sherpa) because of his dark skin. To his right, and directly in front of the first climber and the ice blocks, is a towering serac of blue-green ice. Three of its jagged peaks at the top extend beyond our view. The snow on the viewer’s left is blue and white and there are exposed brown and green, snow-covered rocks to the viewer’s left. The sky above is a very deep blue.
