- View of the edge of a glacier. In the foreground (the lower third of the picture) are areas of grey interlocking with areas of light grey-yellow green. In the background is a rounded rise of ice with its surface coloured pale yellow and white, and crevasses of light-blue, grey-green and green-blue (with some outlines of dark blue). The bottom edge of the glacier is a cliff of ice, which extends from the righthand side of the picture and almost reaches the lefthand side. At the top of the sketch, a strip of blue sky is found on the left and an area of brown wash is on the right.
