The man is holding a gnarled stick over one shoulder with soft bag tied to it. A gnarled cane in his other hand is also held on to by a bald child in a long robe with a basket near its feet. The base, a completely separate low oval brown wooden stand (b), that the figurine rests on is carved with as much careful detail as the whole.

A small piece of fabric, with illegible handwriting, is glued to the centre of the lid. A string loop handle is threaded in one side.
