Across the top is the British lion passant against a red ground. Surmounting the shield is the imperial crown with red and white enamel behind. Stud spike soldered to the middle of the back. Large stud button slides over spike and fastens with small fingertip handle across diameter, with a pressure grip either side to release the button from the spike.
