- A pin of die-pressed cupreous metal, cut out in shape of maple leaf with Alberta coat of arms in middle surmounted by a crown, with banner beneath reading "Alberta Overseas Batt" XXXI". Back has long straps of metal which have been bent back into S-shape springing from each side of pin.

Small, gold, pin spike attached to hinge resting on small platform at one side of back, fastening under hook clasp with locking lever on opposite side. Marks: on top of hook clasp: “14k”
