About 5% of the quills are loose at one end, some quills lost. Thread which binds grass to rim of lid has frayed severely. Box contains six quartz crystals.

Sides of box and lid covered with heavy scrolled vine pattern with gold line borders. Heavy scroll border repeated around edge of lid with figure of Burmese man at centre, dressed in tiered headdress and flowing robe, and holding scroll in hand. Contains button collection and various other sewing sundries. Sticker on base: "Made in Burma" and remnants of a paper stamp of some sort.
