Lid is simple straight sided dome fitting from outside circumference of bowl flange with small knob handle on top. Bottom of bowl has glazed stamp reading "Terrine Brevettee S6D8 (?) LE CACHET France" around the numbers "14 / 2"; the number "14 " has been stamped into the surface of the base and on the underside of the lid.
