There are small islands covered with yellow grass in the river. Trees surround the river and grassy area creating a line as they visually connect when the river bends to the left. In the background, above the trees, is a mountain which takes up half of the piece. The right side of the mountain is in shadow. The sky is painted with a light blue wash, and is occupied with light clouds. Where the sky meets the mat at the top of the piece, a small piece of sky pokes through the clouds and is cropped by the mat.

On the left side of the river, going out of the frame of the painting, trees stand on a raised surface. In the background, mostly on the right hand side, is a range of mountains with four main snow capped peaks. In front of this range and behind the river is another mountain that is cropped by the TRC and right side of mat. This mountain has a slide that meets the trees at the bottom. The main colours in this piece are browns, yellow, greens and a faint blue.
