- A very soft white (buckskin?) mossbag (a) with a small buckskin doll inside (b). a) A mossbag that laces down the entire front with a flap at the back. The bag is decorated with three diagonal stripes of orange, blue and purple beads on each side. The bag is lined with paper and fabric and filled with dried moss.b) A small stuffed doll of buckskin with a bonnet on its head. The bonnet trim and simple facial features are beaded with blue and black beads.

- Description
- A very old and delicate doll with light brown human hair worn in two braids. Head of doll of wax, papier mache composition with painted features and glass eyes that open and close by a weighted mechanism inside head. Hair attached to stiffened, shaped fabric that fits over dome of head. Neck, shoulders and bust of doll in wax. Body, arms, legs and feet of stuffed cotton fabric. Lower arms and hands molded of celluloid. Wearing an ornate white sheer muslin dress trimmed with lace and fine embroidery, with ruffled hem. Knitted blue cardigan sweater, two white cotton petticoats and knee length bloomers trimmed with tucks and lace. A flannel under petticoat with feather stitch embroidery. A pair of textured white cotton knee length stockings and fine black leather dress boots with small heels and buttons down the sides.

- Bisque head and neck with beautifully painted eyebrows and eyelashes. There are also hair top lashes of which about half is lost. Brown glass eyes. Open pink mouth, appears there were teeth. Blonde hair has been cut. Composition body has ball joints at elbows and knees, string and wire hold the doll together. Fingers are individually made but the toes are only indicated. On back of head: "Made in Germany Armand Marseille 390 n. A 8 M" . Ensemble includes: bloomers, garters, 2 half slips, undershirt, dress, cape, knitted cap. An oblong piece of white fabric with blue stitching, unknown function.
