History / Biographical: The Film "Buffalo Bill and the Indians, or Sitting Bull's History Lesson", was filmed in 1975 and released in 1976. The film was directed by Robert Altman and co-written by Robert Altman and Alan Rudolph. Key stars in the film include Paul Newman (Buffalo Bill), Frank Kaquitts (Sitting Bull), Joel Grey (The Producer), and Kevin McCarthy (The Publicist). Other actors include Harvey Keitel, Allan F. Nicholls, Geraldine Chaplin, John Considine, Fred N. Larsen, Pat McCormick and Burt Lancaster. The movie was filmed on location at the Stoney Nakoda reservation in Morley, Alberta, and many of the film extras were from this community. Stoney Nakoda Chief Frank Kaquitts (Sitting Wind) played the role of Sitting Bull

Scope & Content: File consists of 90 b&w prints pertaining to the CPR, with most images depicting active Canadian Pacific trains. Prints were used in John F. Garden's book, 'Nicholas Morant's Canadian Pacific' (1992), published by Footprint Publishing. Prints each have attached information signifying the page number they appear on, zoom percentage of photographs, etc.

Notes: Prints originally stored together in a black binder titled 'Footprint' and 'Canadian Pacific', numbered '78920' on cover. Items' folders have been kept together and labelled similarly.
