The top-half comprises the mountains and glacier; viewer’s right the scree slope and upward sweep of a mountain, moving to the left is the next mountain with its white and blue glacier top and blue sweep down the middle of the mountain. Lower mid-centre is the glacier snow field and to the left is a brown and white mountain. The gloomy sky is grey and white swirling clouds with hints of yellow through the grey and blue sky beyond.

The painting is dominated by the lake shore foreground: on viewer’s right the tip of a grey, gnarled dead tree with branches; the tree appears to have gouache painted on to give it texture; a yellow and orange-coloured rock mid-centre to the right; on viewer’s left wildflowers, the dead tree trunk and the bush above. Grey and brown pebbles and sand and the top of the tree in the water make up the foreground on the extreme right. The dead tree appears to be resting on the yellow and orange-coloured rock. There are yellow flowers with brown centres (Black Eyed Susans) and green leaves below the tree trunk, viewer’s left, and a bush with big brown and green leaves above that. The blue-green calm lake lies beyond the tree trunk and on the opposite shore are blue, grey and purple hills and a snow-peaked mountain; to the viewer’s extreme right is a green and purple hill. The sky above is barely discernable and is a mixture of blue and mauve.

- Case contains 1 b&w tintype. Tin type documents a young girl, (possibly Marion Robb) seated for a portrait. Her cheeks have been tinted and her necklace has been tinted with metallic or gold paint.

- Cased tin type in brown coated paper case. Tin type is framed in a brass coloured frame. Inside of the front cover has a design is debossed in red velvet. A red adhesive sticker that reads “Marion Robb” is found in the front cover. Front and back of case has geometrical design in relief.
