After the hills is a line of forest and in the foreground are two small ponds separated by a thin strip of land with tall grass and the ponds are surrounded by a lone, green pine tree on the left and three golden-leaved poplar trees on the right. The artist signature is painted in the bottom rhc in red, “DUNCAN /81”. Au verso, on the top edge of the canvas in black pen is written, “EARLY AUTUMN, MORLEY, ALBERTA”.
