Description: A highly varnished painting of Boulder Pass. At the bottom of the image there is snow that sweeps up the right side of the image and caps a rocky cliff. The snow is quite yellow at the centre of the image but becomes shadowed and dark in the bottom right corner. A lower snow-capped cliff is in the lower left corner. It forms a pass between it and the cliff on the right. The sky is quite dark at the top of the image but quite cloudy and grey-yellow lower down at the centre of the image. The vantage point makes the viewer feel as if they are peering over the ledge of a cliff and that all that is visible is sky.

Description: An oil sketch of a mountain landscape. The primary colours used are blue, green, purple and beige. The sky is a solid wash of blue, and the remainder of the work is a mixture of shades, prominently green on the left, beige closer to the sky, and purple mixed with green on the right. One of the mountains on the left is highlighted with a stroke of orange. The glacier is in the centre right of the image. The artist’s signature is in the brhc in blue paint. Au verso, written in black ink in the tlhc, “50/A-3”.
