The mat is embroidered with various colours about one quarter of the way down from the top. The embroidered design is a horizontal line with a pagoda at the centre and figures on each side of the pagoda. There is a figure of a coolie carrying a yoke with a basket and bag on the right hand side, and two figures carrying a closed carriage on the left.
