A small, short, square box of brown morocco style leather with gold designs, flattened at corners. Lid lifts off from lip built into bottom, lid slightly bevelled around edges. Inside lid and inside bottom has line scribed in a set-in border following the octagonal shape of the outside of box. Top of lid has large, scroll, embossed and gilt medallion at centre. Embossed, gold designs following same motif repeated three times on each side, once on the bottom, again on the side of the lid, and again on the bevel of the lid. A small, circular motif is on each corner between.
