- A rectangular wooden, possibly mahogany veneer, box with a hinged lid. There is an inlaid mother of pearl floral rose design on top of the lid and diamond patterned inlay on the edges. A mother of pearl name plate is centred on the top of the lid. The box has a brass lock and other wire inlay. On the underside of the box are the marks “Fred Carey June 15 - 95” and “1898 New York” in pencil, and the name of Carey is written on the bottom seven times in different styles.
