Backrest curves gently upward and is 45.0 cm. wide and 10.5 cm. high, ten 24 cm. high wooden spindles join armrest to chair seat. A metal rod is screwed into each side of armrest and fastened by a square nut on bottom side of seat to give greater support. Seat is saddle shape. The four turned legs are joined by two stretchers on each side. Two front legs are spool-shaped while back legs are plain. Two flat headed rods cross diagonally and are fastened to legs by square nut on one end. Metal rods are also used as reinforcements between seat and top stretcher on either side of chair. Note: A 3 cm. gap between planks on seat reveals tongue and groove technique for joining.
