Walking and standing beside a stream of water are two bears. One is closer then the other and is walking toward the viewer on the right side of the image. The other bear is back further and is looking at the first bear. Light green and dark green trees are on both sides of the water. Between the trees and the water some yellow grass helps makes the seperation. The water in some areas has reflections from the trees and tends to be a blue and purple colour. Far in the distance there is a purple, blue mountain with some snow on it's peak. The sky above is a light to medium grey.

The work is signed “J.A. Dippie 1902” on the brc. The bone hangs from a chain attached at each side of the top. A paper sticker has been removed from the back with “A/TS HX/” showing beneath.
