Unique piece, three parts include base, lid and detachable handle. Elliptical shaped container, base has coiled rim decoration and sloped sides. Bottom stamped with peacock like hallmark and "England" and scratched "2469/9 Tvn". Lid also slope sided with identical trim on crest of lid. Center of lid contains circular bracket into which an ornate, loop handled attachment with a flat base and key, fits in and turns to fit snugly.

Handle contains only decoration of scallops and circles and is rivetted with three copper rivets. There is thumb rest at top of handle. Container is overall pear shaped with seam at neck. Neck is almost cylindrical but flares slightly.
