Description
A dark, lathe turned wooden bottle trimmed with strips of thin brass pieces. Hollowed bottle has straight sides rounding at shoulders to narrow into neck surmounted by flared, thick lip, trimmed with thin strips of brass around sides, top, middle, bottom, support short, straight corrugated strips between each ring, a fourth ring girds the lip. A brass collar around the neck is pinked at top and rings have been notched and pinched together at ends, and straight strips are folded at ends to hold in place. Inside of lip is curved convexedly and decorated with grooved rings. Wood beneath each ring on side has been grooved around with five rings.

Two Parks Canada Mountain Guide badges, one (a) from 1978-79, the other (b) from 1979-80. The badges are similar in that they are the same size and shape, rectangular with rounded corners, plastic coated fronts and metal backs with a horizontal pin set, safety-pin type of clasp with a u-type closure for the pin. Instead of being soldered to the back, the pin is inserted through and under the backing through two holes.(a) is navy blue (lettering, imaging and numbers) on white background, Parks Canada logo of left bar of Canadian flag and maple leaf in lhc, “Parks Canada” in the middle, “Parcs Canada” rhc. The following words, letters in quotes are directly below each other and centred: “MOUNTAIN” with “GUIDE” in bold underneath, then “DE MONTAGNE”, then number “275”, followed by “1978-79”. “MADE IN CANADA” and “FAIT AU CANADA” have been folded so that they appear on the side.(b) is forest green (lettering, imaging and numbers) on white background, Parks Canada logo of left bar of Canadian flag and maple leaf in top left “Parks Canada” in the middle, “Parcs Canada” on the right; these are top centred on the badge. The following words, letters in quotes are directly below each other and centred: “GUIDE” in bold then in parenthesis “MOUNTAIN - MONTAGNE”, then number “233”, followed by “1979-80”. “Made in Canada” and “Fait au Canada” have been folded so that they appear on the side.
