- Three very delicate papier mache miniature dance masks, each in its own tin protective carrying case a) A white face with painted features outlined with flowing bright green lines and two curved tusks curving upward from the mouth. The face is topped with a tall spired headdress of gold set in with rows and rows of chips of mirrored glass with the white face repeated in diminishing sizes at base of each of the four tiers of the headdress. The headdress has a wire armature set into a plug of wood at its base.b) Similar in design to (a) but with a green face with blue and gold flowing lines, and there are only two tiers of headdress which are of painted carved wood.c) Papier mache mask of an animal head with an open mouth and a group of sharply pointed metal ears on either side of the face. This mask is white with flowing green lines outlining painted features and the inside of the mouth is pink with a pointed pink tongue and a single white glass jewel set into the roof of the mouth. This mask has a bald head with three grooved ridges along its length surrounded by a wreath of gold inset with rows mirrored glass chips. aa-cc) Three tin carrying cases for each of the masks, each cylindrical in shape with conical tops and a flat ring soldered to the top of each for hanging. Each lid has metal straps at the side which latch over protruding lugs on the base. Inside each base is a flat metal disk atop a tall pole over which the mask sits and is supported (one disk is stamped 'Net average 14 oz', obviously from the original container from which these cases were made). Tissue paper inside the cases helps to support the masks.
