Four cowboys are gathered around a teepee, the top of which is not visible, as it runs of the paper. A man at the far right sits on a boulder and plays the guitar. The next man’s back faces the viewer. The third man sits on a second boulder and appears to be playing the harmonica. The fourth man stands with his leg on the same boulder, his hand resting on his leg. A tree trunk is visible behind the man on the far right. Mountains and a stormy-looking sky are seen beyond the camp setting. All of the men are wearing cowboy hats.

Description
Hoodoos tower over what is possibly the Bow River. Three large hoodoos stand on a bluff overlooking the river beyond them. Several more hoodoos are visible further along this same bluff. The area in front of the hoodoos is mainly flat with some rolling to the ground. The river flows through the watercolour, the larger hoodoos partly blocking the the visibility of the river. Coniferous trees are seen below the hoodoos along the river. Everything is painted in soft washes of sand, green and blue.
