Front full pocket expands by folded gussets at the sides, is lined with aqua fabric, and covered with full flap which fastens by means of red and gold enamelled ivory clip which hooks around thread loop on front of purse. Back compartment is laced with red thread at the sides to expand, and holds a pad of folded paper squares which is held together by two paper "staples", and fits the compartment very tightly. Two large, garish brooches with spring clasps and predominant green colour. (a) rocket shaped - central shaft of finely polished, green stone with point at end, gold coloured, base metal, triangular wings at either side. Wings stepped down in thickness from central shaft three times. Back of solid base metal with spring clasp hinged at base of triangular shape. Clasp is wide, flat bar the length of pin with three small teeth at end to grip fabric. Marks: stamped in clasp, “ pat. apld. for” (b) rhinestone - large, slightly curved, vertical band, pointed at bottom. Set with square cut green glass gemstones in shape of "T". Four, wide, emerald cut white rhinestones at each side beneath crosspiece of "T" extending halfway down shaft. Rest of area beside shaft and around bottom in pointed shape is encrusted with brilliant cut white rhinestones. Large clasp at back hinged behind crossbar of "T". Small sharp teeth at end to grip fabric. Marks: oval plate on clasp: “S. Friedman/ N.Y.”

Inside completely lined with black ribbed satin. Wide zipped pocket along back with snapping patch pocket in front of that. Inside front has snapping patch pocket with another compartment patch pocket in front of that. Compartment pocket holds clear plastic comb, "made in USA" , and small black satin rectangular case, mirror? which contains a Canadian 4 cents stamp which is unused, green with three masted, square rigged boat. Zipper has chain loop pull tab. The purse contained a green, patinaed 1948 Canadian penny and two hairpins, removed.

A small, clutch type purse woven of natural coloured palm fibre with wide band around sides containing chevron pattern on checked background. Top is slightly rounded at shoulders, with zipper set in. Small twisted fibre loop at one corner. Lined with light blue cotton fabric, base of purse woven in plain basket weave of wide strips of palm of natural colour. Wide strips split into narrower strips just above base forming the warp against which a darker weft is woven to form the pattern. A series of six connected triple chevrons against background of tiny dark and light checks form wide band on each side, with plain natural coloured basket weave of narrow strips above. Bag contains large seed pod of cottony fibre in plastic bag.
