Description
(a) One pair of ski goggles with an adjustable elastic head strap. The lenses are flat, dark and oblong-shaped, surrounded by metal frames. The frames have a line of small holes surrounding them; the smaller ones to let air in to prevent fogging, the the larger ones to clip the lenses in. The lens, viewer’s right, is held in by a wire that is threaded through all of the holes. Also, that lens has an engraving with the name of the manufacturer in script “Secunda”. The lenses are joined by a piece of elastic across the nose portion. (b) A red, white and black lidded Elastoplast metal can that the goggles were stored in. Lid red with “S&N” in a dashed circle.; tin: On red background, front portion: white “Elastoplast TRADE MARK”, black “ELASTIC BANDAGE B.P.C., white “WITH POROUS ADHEVSIVE’ black “BRITISH PATENT NO.7” numbers scratched out, in black “FOR THE MEDICAL PROFESSION”. Description
A pair of lightweight ski goggles with two pieces of dark plastic for lenses, enclosed and stitched with a border of taupe-coloured velveteen fabric. This portion is connected to an inner frame of the same fabric, closer to the face, with two pieces of light clear plastic the same shape as the lenses, with cutouts for the eyes, by thread and small pieces of black plastic tubing (0.70cm long); this creates air vents for the face and provides wearing comfort.
