(a) green plaid, a square of fabric cut on the bias and machine stitched in a narrow hem across the bias and along one side, the other side being the selvage edge of the material. Dark blue squares bordered by narrow green bands with an independent narrow green band between on white ground, a thin central cross line of yellow, and independent cross lines of red. (b) red plaid, a square of fabric cut on the bias and band stitched in narrow hem on all three sides, blue and red bands form checks which are bordered with narrow black bands, and thin independent blue cross lines.
