- Jim Davies, heliocopter pilot and artist, lives at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Davies was a pioneer in the development and execution of mountain rescue techniques particular to the needs of the mountain parks. With alpine specialist Peter Fuhrmann of Canadian National Parks, he developed the helicopter sling rescue technique. Intermountain Helicopters was established in 1972 by James M. Davies in order to purchase a Bell 206B helicopter for use in the mountains. Davies operated out of Banff under the charter of Bow Helicopters and when Okanagan Helicopters Ltd. purchased Bow Helicopters Ltd. in 1977?, it bought out Davies as well. Davies continued to fly as their employee until 1991, when he retired to pursue a career as an artist.

- Simon Hoyle, b.1949, was born and educated in England in mining engineering. After coming to Banff, Alberta, Canada while traveling in 1972, he made use of his "hobby" of photography by holding the photography concession at Sunshine Village for eight years. Hoyle studied photography at the Banff School of Fine Arts during the summers of 1973 and 1974. In 1978, he founded Moose Country Colour in Canmore, Alberta with Alex Graham and Vance Hanna and, in 1986, he established Simon Photography in Banff. Hoyle was joined in the business by associate John Bonner in 1991 and, in 1994, he sold to Bonner and moved with his family to New Zealand.
