- William Fergus "Ferg" Lothian (1900-1993) worked for Parks Canada in Ottawa as Assistant Chief of the National Parks Service for 51 years before retiring in 1968. Following his retirement he accepted a contract from the Director of the National Parks Service to compile a difinitive history of national park development in Canada, which he completed in 1981.

- File consists of 1 photographic portrait of Fergus Lothian taken by a member of his staff in July 1978 in Ottawa. The photo is signed by Lothian and dated in the bottom right corner. Also includes a handwritten note by Jim Sime outlining details of the photograph; Lothian gave the photo to Sime at the National and Provincial Party Association gathering on 11 October 1978. Lothian was being presented the J.B. Harkin Medal in recoginition of his service and contribution to national park administration.

- Comedy thriller "Silver Streak" (1976) was directed by Arthur Hiller and written by Colin Higgins. Parts of the filming took place in locations throughout Alberta, including Okotoks, Calgary, and Drumheller. The film largely takes place aboard a moving train, and the use of Canadian Pacific Railway for this purpose is likely how Nicholas Morant (Canadian Pacific's Special Photographer from 1930 - 1981) was able to take the photographs in this file.

The film was directed by Robert Altman and co-written by Robert Altman and Alan Rudolph. Key stars in the film include Paul Newman (Buffalo Bill), Frank Kaquitts (Sitting Bull), Joel Grey (The Producer), and Kevin McCarthy (The Publicist). Other actors include Harvey Keitel, Allan F. Nicholls, Geraldine Chaplin, John Considine, Fred N. Larsen, Pat McCormick and Burt Lancaster. The movie was filmed on location at the Stoney Nakoda reservation in Morley, Alberta, and many of the film extras were from this community. - File consists of 21 photographs including 2 which are printed on postcard paper and 2 in personalized greeting cards. Content pertains to the Woodworth family house in Banff [ca. 1900], holiday greetings from family friends, a snowshoe race on the Bow River [1912], "wagoneer" Jim Stewart with a government water wagon, Joe Woodworth and Jo Wardell with family on a trip to Oakville, Ontario, Maud Woodworth Kidney as a teenager and ca. 1970 with her son Jack, a lunch party, a Christmas party, events hosted by the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire and the Order of the Eastern Star, a community play from 1911, the first CPR Depot [1908], ski jumping in Banff, the Banff Royal Canadian Legion war memorial cenotaph, and other community events involving the Kidney family.
