- Bruce Patterson, b.1949, was a journalist, writer and photographer at Calgary and Claresholm, Alberta, Canada. Patterson reported for the Calgary Herald for fifteen years, four of those years as Banff Bureau Chief. He accompanied the 1982 Canadian Mount Everest Expedition as a support team member and covered the expedition for Southam News. Bruce Patterson is the author of "Canadians on Everest" (Calgary, Alberta: Detselig Enterprises, 1990).

- Audio tapes recorded to assist with preparation of newspaper reports and eventually used to prepare "Canadians on Everest." Transmissions included those communications exchanged between climbers and base camp and broadcasts monitored on another radio from Kathmandu transmissions, August to October 1982. Recordings were made on a small Hitachi recorder. Accompanied by notes.
