- Mary Belle Rich was a published poet and children's book author. Mary Belle grew up in Buffalo, New York before purchasing a large ranch and moving to Pincher Creek, Alberta in her adult years. Mary Belle's best-known work is her compilation of children's poems, titled "Fairy Tales and Grown-up Talk" (published ca.1913).

Content includes photographs of Vancouver Island, British Columbia including unidentified sailors, Indigenous people, buildings, lighthouses [Cape Beale], canoes, ships, boats, landscapes, and shorelines. Some prints are annotated by Norman Luxton, identifying individuals as being Nootka [Nuu-chah-nulth], some taken in Port Alberni. File contains photographs of human skulls and potentially residential schools - access is restricted to select photographs. Content includes Tilikum voyage to Pacific Islands, with possible locations depicted including Cook Islands, Manihiki and Penhryn, Somoa, Fiji, and Tahiti. Photographs depict the Tilikum, unidentified Indigenous people, missionaries, sailors [two identified as Captain Winchester and Captain Dexter], pearl boats, and scuba. Some photographs depict Norman Luxton and John Voss. Most photographs have duplicate copies. One print is of a child potentionally identified as Hazel Baird.
