Description
A hollow-tubed, metal frame, nylon backpack. The frame (with smaller cross beams and braces with hooks and grommets) curves to the body. The pack has padded, adjustable shoulder straps, a flap cover and several zippered pockets: two on each side and two on the front. There is a pocket on the front of the flap that closes with Velcro. The pack has a light nylon extension at the top with a drawstring closure. The flap has two cords threading through the front sides which are tied to metal rings on the pack to keep the top closed. There is white label tag sewn onto the flap; it reads “#228 BAG-100% NYLONSAC A DOS” , and underneath “MADE IN KOREA FAIT EN COREE” and under that, “CA#00818”.

Description
Grey canvas backpack with leather straps, mounted on metal frame. Four pockets, one on either side and front and a zippered pouch on inside upper flap. Edges of pocket flaps bound by leather. Leather shoulder straps riveted to bottom of frame and buckled to top. Bag closure is thin rope and plastic toggle. Leather inset inside bag: “Bergans Original 39306”. “Mrs P. WHYTE BANFF ALBERTA” is faintly written on the front flap. A red plastic tag that reads “MOUNTAIN TRAVEL USA” “C. WHYTE” on one side and “If Lost Or Found Please Notify MOUNTAIN TRAVEL (USA) 1398 Solano Avenue Albany, California 94706” on the other is attached to the top handle. A fabric label that reads “Bergans ORIGINAL MADE IN OSLO NORWAY” with a drawing of two men is attached to the back of the bag.

Frame one in the top left: a skier’s head is buried after he’s skied downhill and fallen. To the bottom right of that frame it says “XMAS”. Frame two in the top right: a skier’s pants are caught on a branch of a tree and he is hanging by the fabric. One ski pole is caught high up in the tree branches.
