Description
A collection of six, large, belt buckles of which four are silver, one is stainless steel, and one is brown snakeskin. (a )elliptical silver, 7.1 x 4.3 x 2.0, surface engraved with scrolled leaf pattern in low relief. Bar across short axis of ellipse set into soldered ends on back so that it swivels. Hooked over, and soldered to swivelling bar are two very sharp, pointed prongs. (b) oval silver wreath , 6.8 x 5.5 x .8, cast, open work wreath made up of figures of griffins, vines and leaves. Across long axis is fixed swivelling bar to which are soldered two short, sharp curving, prongs. Attached on back is large U-shaped loop of silver, to hold belt. (c) large round silver, 4.7 diam x .8 high, large ring of silver with two heavy trefoils at each end of ring butting against one another, A third trefoil with long, sharp spike attached by being formed into ring around bar. Tongue angled slightly at front where it fits against front of belt. d) smailer ring with two ball ends and a ball with plume attached to point. e) rectangular silver f) snakeskin square

A belt clasp consisting of two circles of pierced brass set with a mosaic of turquoise chips. Circles have brass flanges with pierced design around edges of large, raised, round area of turquoise chips set in rough grouting held by a short brass collar. Pierced design on each piece different. Long, round, brass bar soldered across back of each piece forming loop to hold belt, one circle has flat eye which fits flat hook on other to clasp buckle together, hand made.
