Description
A grey fabric-bound sketchbook with “Sketches” [cursive] embossed in burgundy on the front cover and a small fabric pencil sleeve attached to the inside of the back cover that belonged to Peter Whyte. The original pages of the sketchbook seem to have been removed at some point - the book is full of loose pieces of paper, some of which may be original to the sketchbook. Sketches feature figure studies, cars, wildlife, and graded sampler sheets done by Peter as part of his coursework at the Boston School of Fine Art.

Description
A flip book-style sketchbook with thick cardstock covers bound with brown fabric tape belonging to Peter Whyte. A decorative coat of arms with “Carnet, Croquis” is printed in black ink in the top left corner of the front cover and a “Made in France” sticker is adhered to the back cover on the fabric tape. Throughout the front and back covers are very faint pencil marks that appear to be math equations. Sketches pertain to boats [there are also 2 photograph prints of boat sketches also done by Peter inserted at the back of the book], figures [mostly First Nations people], a crude map of “Rivers Manitoba,” a hill with buildings and the inscription “Gaspe, June-30-58,” and birds.

On the front cover, viewer’s left, there is a glued piece of off-white paper 10.4x2.0cm wide, and on the back inside cover, viewer’s left there is a chop mark (1.0x0.50cm wide) in ochre ink.
