The trunk has two strap and buckle closures, and two locking brass snap latches and circular central latch with a key. The inside of the trunk is lined with cloth. The trunk has “D. Cranstone” handprinted on the top. The trunk also has paper stickers from the White Star Line, including one that reads “May (?) Comdi S. Hampten, Ross 8-5-40 WR”.

A black painted, fabric covered wooden trunk with metal reinforced corners and wooden slats along the lid, sides and bottom. The trunk is fastened with two snap latches and a central circular locking latch. There is a red leather envelope mounted to the inside of the lid above an orange label that reads “CROUCH & FITZGERALD TRUNKS, BAGS, AND VALISES”. The trunk has two stacking lift out trays inside as well as organizational dividers in the bottom section. The trunk has a Canadian Pacific World Cruise Sticker attached to it, and is also marked with an “m” (Moore’s brand?).

The trunk in fastened with three latches and a locking latch to secure the contents. The case has stickers attached to it all over the exterior. The stickers are from the Canadian Australasian Line, British Rail, Canada Customs, N.Y.K. Line, Wentworth Hotel, Sydney, and there are more stickers that are illegible or torn.
